Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the transmitter go?

The transmitter sits safe and silently inside the house. We usually set it in the corner of a room on the front of the house with a nearby window.

Do I need a license?

No. We have the radio approved by the FCC (and DOC in Canada) so you don't need a license.

Will the In Home Radio System really get me listings?

Yes. Sellers love the idea that their house will stand out from the rest. The fact that you are using a unique form of advertising that offers the chance to sell their house faster will get you more listings.

How long does it take to install?

It takes about 2 minutes to install both the radio and yard sign. The radio is programed and ready to play. All we have to do is plug it in and lay the antenna along the baseboard.

Will the system loose the message if the power goes out?

No. The message is stored on computer chips. When the power comes back on, it simply starts playing again and repeats over and over.

How does it sound?

Just like a regular radio station. Since the message is stored on computer chips, they sound the same after months of service as they do the first day.

What if I can't have more than one yard sign?

Not a problem. We can put a rider on your yard sign to get people tuned in. Separate yard signs work best but riders will work also.

Should I have an In Home Radio for every listing?

Probably not. We believe the IHR system has two basic uses. First, as a listing tool. If you are trying to sign up a homeowner that can't decide which agent to use, offer them something that will make their house stand out. Second, for listing a house with "sleeper features". Some houses have features that you just can't see from the road. Advertising these sleeper features will get more drive by house hunters interested and you will get more calls. Typically about 1 in 5 of your listings will qualify for the IHR system.

Do I have to use 1610 AM?

No. 1610 is used because it is available almost everywhere. No commercial station uses it and there is very seldom any interference. If you happen to have two systems in the same neighborhood we set one to 1610 and one to 1620 so there is no interference.

Will people still call if they already have the information?

Yes! In fact more people will call. Our job is to sell the features of the home and qualify it to their needs. We don't give them too much information. Only enough to motivate them to call you. Drive by house hunters see your listing every day and probably just see a house for sale. We try to paint a picture that will make this house stand out so they will want to call YOU. The other plus is you will get more double sided sales.

Do I need to have listings now to use the IHR system?

No. If you don't have any listings now or have existing listings that are happy with your service then fine. Just keep this in mind for those hard to sell prospects and the listings with sleeper features. Again, IHR is best used as a listing tool and to advertise sleeper features to drive by house hunters.

What kind of response should I expect?

First, this is not a magic wand that we wave over your house and it sells. As a listing tool it will get you about 10 to 20 percent more listings per year. We have done a lot of test marketing and found that your call volume will go up about 25 to 50 percent more per IHR listing if used properly. Look at the ROI page to see how those numbers turn into dollars.
